cathedral reflection

This is a reflection of La Segrada Familia in a pond across the street from it. After going here I had the song, "By the Cathedral" by Keren Ann in my head all day. "Darlin, I will remember, Darlin. I've been mellow and tender; I've seen water - by the cathedral under the maple; it was in April...." Well it was the end of March. The thing is I could only remember "by the cathedral..." Then I listened to it later.

This is part of a bench...pretty much the only section that was not littered with garbage or people.

Park Window

This was a window at Park Güell. In it you see a fountain and another building reflected. What an amazing park! I am not sure if I spelled the title correctly or not. As you will see in the next few posts, the quality, clarity and vibrance of my pictures is quite disappointing once I scan them in and then post them here. Oh well. I have the prints and they are ok. Barcelona was so pretty!

snow and newspaper

I took this one on the way back to Mike's place from the Walker. If you think soggy trash is pretty... Well, I liked the partially snow-covered newspaper and the footprint. Sabine noticed that part of the footprint and the melted portion of snow around the paper look like a heart. I see it now too. It wasn't planned and I'm not sure if I like that or think it is corny. Below is a heart I made with an icicle ... that I planned, and yes it is silly.

I took this one in Minnesota as well. I am going back again for a short visit and am really looking forward to it.
Barcelona is on the schedule for late March. Then it is back to the grind stone for another semester. Then...who knows. The future is open and no job is yet in sight... Exciting! (sorta)

When I was in Erpel on Christmas Eve I noticed that they had cut down this beautiful tree. Rumor has it, it was sick. I wish I had taken a few more pictures of it.

I really hope I get the chance to go back some day. There is just too much to see...even in a lifetime.

I guess it is about time to add something new. This copy scanned looks different from the print. Somehow I couldn't match it perfectly...oh well. This was taken inside the colosseum. I waited for a while for that guy to leave and he didn't. So I finally snapped the picture just as he left and I suppose it turned out better with him in it than it would have without.

I had to be lifted up by a friend to take this picture because I was too short. I think I would have liked to take a little more time on it, but it turned out ok despite having to just quickly focus and shoot.

Upside Down

This picture makes me smile. I saw these items while on a walk with Mike in Minneapolis. I wanted this picture but there was a woman inside at the front window watering her plants. So I hid behind Mike and took it. Maybe she would not have cared about me taking a picture of her backyard. I think I like to make events more dramatic and fun than they otherwise would be.
